Julie Adlard is a well known professional artist and tutor. She studied Combined Craft Design at South Bank University and Advanced Ceramics and Painting at Kingston College. 

Her inspiration comes from the love of landscapes and coastal harbours. She uses bright and bold colours to create a naivety that makes you want to smile. She has an intuitive use of tonal colour and uses this to create work which evokes an emotional response, a feeling of homecoming and nostalgia. 

Julie explores surface texture and pattern, working with mixed media in a unique way using clay and fabrics to create tactile collage paintings. The compositions are over painted with acrylics and glazes which gives vibrancy to the work. 

Julie’s unique clay and  mixed media paintings can be found in galleries throughout England. She also works on private commissions for corporate and private collectors.
