Sharon Jiggins is a fine art textiles artist, and has lived in Cornwall for over forty years. Drawing her Inspiration from the coastal landscape, she creates vibrant hand painted silk seascapes and intricate mixed media appliquéd works using felt, silk and mixed fibres.

Sharon studied painting and drawing at Falmouth School of Art and went on to specialise in woven and printed Textiles at West Surrey College, Farnham. After graduating in the early nineties she returned home, lured by the love of the Cornish landscape and the colours of the sea, where she has continued to live and create her unique textile pieces inspired by this love.

Sharon resumed her studies in 2008 gaining her post grad in F.E teaching and went on to teach Textile Design at Cornwall College for many years.

She now splits her time between The Picture House Gallery and creating her own artwork, with the occasional ‘toe dip’ back into lecturing!
